keep BANSDOC Cyber Centre
operational in order to facilitate
on-line services to Scientists,
Technologists, Administrators,
Policy-makers, Teachers, Students
etc.
- To
collect reprint on demand for
the Scientists, Researchers and
render reprographic services;
- To
maintain National Science Library
equipped with latest scientific
publications;
- To
supply black & white Slides,
Microfilms, Microfiche, Photographs
for use in scientific works;
- To
give out BANSDOC periodicals
with the collection of indigenous
S&T information;
- To
implement co-operative programs
with all the countries of the
world in order to strengthen exchange
and collection of information;
- To
take lead-role in formulating
national policy on Science and
Information & Communication
Technology;
- To
act as the National Focal Point
of Bangladesh in performing co-operative
activities with various national,
sub-regional, regional and international
organizations;
- To
act as the SDC-NFP-Cell
Co-ordinator;
- To
improve the quality of S&T
information services through regular
research;
- To
arrange training and education
to create manpower on scientific
information & communication
Technology;
- To
play the pioneering role in automating
libraries in the country in order
to ensure maximum utilization
of S&T information resources
available in the country; and
- To
facilitate availability of information
useful to the scientists, technicians
and technologists creating National
Data Bank.
