(i) Strengthening of BANSDOC (1st Phase: 2001-2007) :

Govt. has allotted to BANSDOC 1.463 Acres of land at Plot No. E14/Y under the Administrative Zone, Sher-e-Banglanagar, Dhaka for construction of BANSDOC’s own Administrative Building under the above project. A 20 storied BANSDOC Administrative Building including basement will be constructed phase wise, During first phase of the project, the construction works upto 3rd floor including foundation and basement of the building will be completed with cost estimated Tk. 976.67 lakhs. Besides this, aiming library services at users doorsteps, BANSDOC Mobile Library as a project component has been introduced for extensive publicity and expansion of BANSDOC library services. Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan MP, Former Hon’ble Minister in-charge of the Ministry of Science and Information & Communication Technology inaugurated the BANSDOC Mobile Library on 29th March 2006. Mr. Mian Mustaque Ahmed, Hon’ble Secretary, Ministry of Science and Information and Communication Technology and Quomaran Nessa Khanam, Director, BANSDOC, Dhaka attended the inaugural ceremony. The main aims and objectives of the BANSDOC Mobile Library is to provide update research information published in journals and periodicals including text and reference books on different subjects in the fields of science and technology in home and abroad as per needs of the scientists, technologists, educationists and students associated with research and development and academic activities of different R&D and higher educational institutions of Dhaka.

(ii) Upgradation and Expansion of the Qualities of BANSDOC Services (2006-2009) :

BANSDOC is the country’s pivotal national information service providing organization in the fields of science and technology. There is no alternative of updated information on science and communication technology for expansion and development of science and technology based industry in the country. Gradual development of the organization and expansion of BANSDOC, which has been providing services specially needed by the students, academicians, researchers, policy makers, planners, entrepreneurs and allied other persons at minimum costs aiming to develop socio-economic activities of the country. Necessary steps has been initiated for implementing the project.
